Mrs. Barbara Harter Rippy ends most conversations by saying she loves you to the moon and back. And MUSC pharmacy students certainly reciprocate! Grateful for the MUSC College of Pharmacy’s role in the success she and late husband Bobby Gene Rippy ’63 enjoyed as owners of Smith’s Drug Store in Union, South Carolina, Mrs. Rippy has made possible the Bobby Gene ’63 and Barbara Harter Rippy Lecture Hall and established a first-of-its-kind endowed scholarship. Her support of MUSC pharmacy students continues on Giving Tuesday with a special challenge. The moon is around 240,000 miles from Earth. If 10 new donors give to Children's Cancer Care and Research Fund at MUSC Health Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital, an additional $5,000 will be unlocked for children's cancer care and research!

As a graduate of the first Class in 1971, I challenge 15 alumni to Pay It Forward to the James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine with any size gift!"

If 10 donors give to Arts in Healing, a $5,000 gift will be unlocked on behalf of Doug and Barrie Hinson. "As volunteers for the hospital, we have seen firsthand the impact of Arts in Healing. Art and music therapy has the ability to help heal patients beyond traditional medical procedures. The therapists are able to connect with the patient’s (or family’s) heart, providing comfort when needing it the most. This department is vital to MUSC." - Doug and Barrie Hinson, MUSC volunteers

If 10 donors give $100 or more to the Children's Cancer Care and Research Fund, an additional $5,000 will be unlocked. Thank you to Hammer Out Pediatric Cancer Corp.!

Double your impact! Dr. Ben Clyburn and Dr. Elisha Brownfield have pledged to match dollar for dollar every gift donated to the MUSC Department of Medicine, up to $5,000.

If 10 donors make a gift to the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, a $2,000 gift will be unlocked on behalf of Dr. Sarah Book, Dr. Mark George, Dr. Kevin Gray, Lindsay Finneran and other anonymous donors.
