Children's Health

Support care designed just for kids

MUSC Children’s Health provides comprehensive, compassionate care for children from before birth through age 18. Every child we serve benefits from the specialized expertise, equipment and environments designed just for them – because kids aren’t small adults.

They need medicines formulated for them, beds sized for them and care delivered by pediatric professionals trained to meet their unique needs.

Our commitment to excellence has earned national recognition. The MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital is South Carolina’s only children’s hospital named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals list, with six pediatric specialties ranked among the top 50 in the nation – including cardiology & heart surgery, ranked No. 2 in the U.S.

Additional nationally ranked specialties include nephrology, orthopedics, cancer, gastroenterology & GI surgery, and neonatology.

Your support helps ensure that every child receives world‑class care that blends advanced treatments, clinical trials and leading-edge technologies with moments that let kids simply be kids.

From puppy play dates to costume parades and everything in between, your generosity helps create joy, comfort and healing for our youngest patients.

Give on May 5 to help create brighter, healthier futures for children across South Carolina.

Amplify your impact: Support Medical Genetics & Genomics

Nearly 30 million Americans—half of them children—are living with a rare disease, and in South Carolina alone, tens of thousands of families are affected by one of nearly 10,000 genetic conditions. For many, access to specialized care and effective treatments remains out of reach. But we are now entering the era of interventional genetics, a transformative shift in medicine where a genetic diagnosis is no longer the end of the journey, but the beginning of targeted treatment. Breakthroughs in gene therapy, CRISPR gene editing, and mRNA-based therapies are making it possible to treat and even cure conditions once thought untreatable.

Every life-changing intervention begins with a precise diagnosis, unlocking access to therapies that can slow disease progression, restore function, or alter the course of a patient’s life. We are committed to connecting patients with existing treatments, enrolling families in cutting-edge clinical trials, and removing barriers to care so these advances reach those who need them most. Your support helps turn scientific progress into real-world impact—bringing hope, access, and the possibility of cures to families facing rare genetic disease.
