Arts in Healing

Support healing through the arts

Arts in Healing is a clinical, evidence-based creative arts therapy program that utilizes art therapy, music therapy and dance/movement therapy to support emotional regulation, reduce stress and improve overall well-being for patients and families.

On MUSC Day, your support expands access to these healing experiences. Services are delivered across inpatient medical settings, outpatient care, schools and community-based programs, ensuring continuity of care for patients, families and caregivers.

Your support helps:

Provide essential materials.

 Sustain therapeutic programming

Expand access to creative arts therapies for diverse populations in medical, educational and community settings.

In addition to clinical care, the program includes a curated arts initiative that brings visual art into health care and community spaces, contributing to environments that support well-being, reflection and connection.

The impact of your support

“My daughter’s art therapy sessions helped her navigate a scary and confusing situation while her baby brother was a patient. These sessions truly became the beginning steps in my daughter’s emotional healing and mental health journey.”

“The art therapist was able to help interpret my daughter’s feelings through her artwork and explain how best to support her … I, too, listened and learned from her wisdom during the sessions.”

“Music therapy was the most impactful offering of our stay. For a few moments in time, the beeping machines and stress melted away.”
