One day. Unlimited possibilities.
The Waring Historical Library houses the rare book and special collections of the Medical University of South Carolina. The library, built in 1894, is on the National Register of Historic Places and is considered the finest example of Neo Gothic architecture in Charleston.
Although it is one of the oldest buildings on campus, it has not been significantly updated since the university acquired it in the 1960s. The library is now in dire need of renovation.
By giving to the Waring Historical Library Renovation fund, you ensure researchers, students, faculty and scholars will have access to these historically significant collections for generations to come.
Give on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29, and generous donors David Trachtenberg and Rick Wilson will match your gift – dollar for dollar – up to $10,000 while funds last. Wilson is the five-times great grandson of Robert Wilson, who along with his sons, gave MUSC the original collection that formed the library.
Thank you!
