The MUSC Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is committed to providing the highest quality patient care in the treatment of mental illness and addiction. Made up of 12 division and nine specialty programs, the department includes the Institute of Psychiatry, the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center, the nationally ranked Addiction Sciences Division and more.
The department is also ranked in the top 10 nationally for research. We conduct clinical trials and studies on autism, addiction, Alzheimer’s disease, PTSD, sleep and insomnia, depression and more.
As part of an academic medical center, the department is also dedicated to the education of MUSC medical students, residents and fellows.
