Animal Therapy

With each visit, certified therapy dogs bring tail-wagging happiness to bedsides and exam rooms at MUSC hospitals and medical pavilions. They have been shown to reduce stress, depression and blood pressure. When partnered with our MUSC physicians, therapists and nurses, a therapy dog can also help motivate patients to reach their health goals. MUSC patients never receive a bill for a therapy dog visit, thanks to the volunteers and donors who make this program “paw”-ssible.

If you give on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29, an anonymous donor will match your gift to animal therapy – dollar for dollar – up to $2,000 while funds last.
